Terms of Service
In short:
- BlindBlue is a free music/pop-culture guessing game bot for Discord. An optional VIP upgrade removes limits, sold and billed entirely by Discord.
- You must follow Discord's own Terms of Service to use BlindBlue at all - this page adds rules specific to the game itself.
- The service is provided by an individual developer, on a best-effort basis, "as is", with no uptime guarantee.
1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BlindBlue Discord bot and of the companion website at blindblue.fr (together, the "Service"), provided by Milanne Onym, an individual developer based in France, not operating as a registered company ("we", "us", the "Developer"). By adding BlindBlue to a Discord server, playing a game, using the website, or purchasing the VIP option, you agree to these Terms and to Discord's own Terms of Service, which apply in addition to this page (see section 11).
2. Description of the service
BlindBlue is a "blind test" game: the bot plays short audio clips (music, movie/TV/game themes, etc.) in a Discord voice channel, and players try to be first to type the correct answer in the configured text channel. The service is free to use. An optional paid VIP tier (see section 5) removes certain limits (round count, etc.) for a server.
The website lets a signed-in player view their own statistics, plus aggregate figures about the game itself (number of servers, songs and answers, success rate per song). Leaderboards ranking players against each other exist inside Discord only, through the /rank command. We deliberately do not publish any leaderboard on the website: doing so would mean storing and displaying Discord usernames next to their scores, on a public page open to search engines, which would make players identifiable to anyone. Keeping ranking inside Discord means a player is only ever named to the people they chose to play with.
3. Discord account and eligibility
You need a Discord account to use BlindBlue, and you must meet whatever minimum age and eligibility requirements Discord itself imposes for its own service - we do not set an additional age limit of our own. You are responsible for the security of your own Discord account and for anything done through it while using the Service.
4. Fair play and acceptable use
BlindBlue has no automated anti-cheat system. Fairness within a round is left to each Discord server's own moderation and to players' self-regulation - we do not monitor or referee in-game conduct.
We only step in for technical abuse directed at the bot itself: API abuse, self-bots, hacking attempts, or exploit-hunting. In that case, the Discord user account or server involved is blacklisted and can no longer add or use BlindBlue (see section 8). If you believe a blacklist was applied in error, contact us (section 12) to contest it.
Separately, using the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that violates Discord's own Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, is not permitted.
5. Discord's role in payment, VIP and refunds
VIP is sold exclusively through Discord's own built-in payment system (a "Discord SKU": a monthly subscription renewed automatically by Discord, a one-time purchase of one year of VIP, or a one-time lifetime purchase; both one-time purchases are activated on the server of your choice with the /claim command). For this purchase, Discord acts as the selling platform: billing, payment methods, refunds, and the legal right of withdrawal are governed exclusively by Discord's own Terms of Service and handled by Discord's support - not by us. Our role is limited to supplying the digital content (VIP access) once Discord confirms your purchase; we never receive, see, or store your card details or any billing information (we only receive a technical notification confirming the purchase, used solely to activate VIP).
This division of roles applies for as long as VIP purchases go through Discord's own built-in payment system. If an alternative payment method were ever offered in the future (for example Patreon), this section would be updated before that method goes live.
Any billing dispute, refund request, or subscription cancellation must be made through Discord directly (Discord support / your Discord purchase history), not with us.
VIP simply extends limits for the server it's applied to; it is not a purchase of a physical good and confers no other right.
6. Intellectual property
The BlindBlue name, logo, and original code are the property of the Developer. Audio clips and other media used as game content may be protected by third-party copyright; they are used solely as short excerpts for the purpose of a private, non-commercial quiz game played among a Discord server's own members, not redistributed as standalone downloads. If you are a rights holder and believe content used by BlindBlue infringes your rights, contact us (section 12) and we will address it.
7. Availability and liability
BlindBlue is a hobby project maintained by a single individual developer, not a commercial company. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any uptime guarantee, and may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer's liability for any loss or damage arising from use of the Service is limited to what is legally unavoidable for an individual, non-professional operator; we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for issues caused by Discord's own platform, outages, or third-party services we depend on.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using BlindBlue at any time by removing it from your server. In case of technical abuse (see section 4) or a request from Discord, we may blacklist a Discord user account or server, preventing it from adding or using BlindBlue, without prior notice where necessary. We do not otherwise moderate or remove the bot from a server on our own initiative - that choice belongs to the server itself.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, notably to reflect changes to the Service or to legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. In the absence of an amicable resolution, disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your own country of residence.
11. Discord's own terms
BlindBlue operates on top of Discord and could not function without it. Your use of Discord itself remains governed by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, which apply in addition to and independently of this page. We do not control, and are not responsible for, Discord's own platform.
